"Works by Ray Johnson" serves as a retrospective of his varied career as a collagist. In viewing and studying the collages present that trace thirty years of his activity in this medium, we become acutely aware of Johnson's wit and humor which ranges from the sublime to the outrageous. While we may have to delve deeply in order to identify Johnson's associations with words and personalities, we will definitely be struck by the strength of design and composition inherent to all the work.
